Yesterday it’s been our Reading home birthday, as it’s marked one year in Reading for me and Franz. We can’t be more happy about our choice to move from London to this really nice town in Berkshire :)

Reading has everything we need: it’s a big town but not too big as London; everything is pretty much at walking distance; our current flat is beautiful and efficient, and we can take the best out of our beloved London minus its downsides – it’s only 30 minutes by train from here.
Plus, we’ve got the stunning Thames Valley at literally 5 minutes from home by walk, and we LOVE to have long walks along the riverside.
This is the very first selfie I took in our new flat one year ago. It’s funny to check on it after one year in Reading and in this apartment: from what I can see from the pic above, it seems like nothing has changed in the room a part from the kitchen counter that’s now over-populated by appliances and general mess :D. We’ve already gathered countless and priceless memories in this house and in this town.
Facebook also reminds me that it’s already one year in Reading! Although we had a proper house-warming party last year back in February, we also did have our informal house-warming dinner with some friends who helped us out assembly the furniture for the new flat:
The real irony of everything? We went to Ikea just last Friday to get some new stuff, and yesterday we ended up assembly a new desk for Franz’s music workstation. Exactly one year later! LOL, I swear to you we didn’t do it on purpose. As it was the end of a tough week at work I couldn’t contain my excitement about the Ikea assembling time:
Moving to Reading has been one of the best choice we made since we landed in the UK. Plus, for an author and book lover like me there’s not better place to live than Reading, am I right? 😜
I’m glad to be part to this community. Reading is the place I call home. 🏡 ❤️
