New Year’s resolutions? Last year’s gratitude exercise instead

I wanted to write up a list of new year’s resolutions for the 2019, then I stopped to think about what happened to me during 2018. It hasn’t been an easy year, so I decided to practice gratitude instead.

practicing gratitude is better than new year's resolutions
Our three families gathered together to celebrate the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019.

Ditch new year’s resolutions, go for a gratitude look back

☀️ I am blessed and privileged to have many friends and family in my life that look after me in time of needs, not always when the sun shines.

💻 My Jetpack team at Automattic is the best pack I could have ever thought of working with.

👫 I’m so lucky to be part of those new families (my in-laws and my sister’s in-laws) who turned out to get along with each other so well.

💑 My sister has the most kind and generous partner of the world, I love him so much. I’m grateful to see her serene and happy.

👸🏻 Even if we often clash, my mother was (and is) exactly here for me when my life went to the darkest place.

🦸🏼‍♂️ My father is my hero and my benchmark for so many things. –

❤️ And then there’s my better half, the person my life depends from for so many aspects. Without him I wouldn’t be a third of the woman that I am.

I do have some new year’s resolutions, though

🧗‍♀️ My 2018 has been the most difficult year of my life. I struggled, fought, and battled; I felt, I raised, I failed, I suffered, and spat blood and disappointment. But I NEVER gave up, and will never do, because there are friends and people who want me to succeed, see me happy, and support me.

💪 I promise I will never stop running, learning, trying, and getting up after falling down.
I wish and want 2019 to be the year I can say I overcame all the challenges 2018 faced me. And likewise to you all.

Do you have anything to be grateful to 2018? Any relevant new year’s resolution fancy to share with me? Leave a comment below :)
