Nessuno ci pensa mai, perché crediamo che grazie ai satelliti e a tutto il resto l’uomo conosca ogni angolo della terra emersa. Non ci pensiamo, eppure ci sono delle tribù che vivono ancora nella loro fase non “civilizzata”.
Recentemente è stata scoperta l’ultima – nel tempo – di queste tribù. É il popolo Mashco Piro, fotografato per caso. Vivono nel cuore nel parco nazionale di Manu, nella foresta pluviale ai confini tra Perù e Brasile. Sono venuti allo scoperto perché la deforestazione li sta spingendo fuori dai loro territori tradizionali. E non vogliono avere niente a che fare con noi. Voglio solo sparire nella foresta, di nuovo, ed essere ignorati.
La loro scoperta ha destato l’attenzione non solo degli antropologi, ma anche dell’opinione pubblica e degli ecologisti: d’altronde, i Mashco Piro sono stati “sfrattati” dalla loro casa per colpa dello sconsiderato disboscamento ad opera dell’uomo civilizzato. Ma siamo davvero sicuri che siamo noi quelli civilizzati per davvero, nel senso più autentico della parola?
É davvero la nostra società, quella veramente civilizzata? La stessa società che vorrebbe avvicinarsi ai Mashco Piro contro la loro volontà, per insegnare loro le cose dell’uomo moderno? Ma davvero siamo diventati così onnipotenti, a livello cognitivo?
Picasso una volta ha detto una cosa tipo: “A quattro anni dipingevo come Raffaello, poi ci ho messo una vita per imparare a dipingere come un bambino.”
Più o meno è la stessa cosa che direi a quelli che vogliono a tutti i costi stanare i Mashco Piro. Ma lo direi con più insulti.

We usually believe that the humanity knows every corner of the lands above sea level thanks to satellites and other stuffs. We don’t think that there could be something undiscovered on the earth, but it is. There are still some tribes that live without not being “civilized”.
Recently – in terms of time – another of these tribes was discovered. The people of Mashco Piro were photographed by accident a couple of month ago. They live in the heart of the Manu National Park, into the rainforest on the borderline between Peru and Brazil. They came out into the open because of the deforestation which is pushing them out of their traditional territories and boundary. And they do not want nothing to do with us. They just want to disappear into the forest again, and be ignored.
Their discovery has drawn the attention of the anthropologists, the public opinion and the ecologists. On the other hand, the Mashco Piro were “evicted” from their home because of reckless deforestation by civilized man.
But are we really sure that we are the civilized ones for real, in the most genuine sense of the word? Is it really our society, the civilized one for real? The same society that wants to get closer to Mashco Piro people against their will, to teach them the human-modern-civilized stuffs? Are we really become so almighty, cognitively speaking?
Picasso once said something like: “When I was four I used to paint like Raphael, then it took me a lifetime to learn to paint like a child.”
I would say pretty much the same thing to those who want to hint out Mashco Piro people at any cost. But I would say it with more insults.
